Mesa,AZ,USA -East Valley Tribune, by Jackie Leatherman -July 3, 2006: -- Gilbert Unified School District transportation officials have been battling to recover recorded bus incidents from heat-damaged VHS tapes for more than a decade... The district is counting on a $145,000 technology upgrade to eliminate the hassle and mechanical failures of their outdated security system and allow them to more efficiently view footage of any incidents... The upgrade will equip 60 of Gilbert’s 231 school buses with new cameras, digital video recording and global positioning systems, which help drivers navigate by using satellite technology...
