But he said significant advances in security in the land transport system and major train stations meant Australia was well-placed to protect itself from security threats... An Australian analyst at the Rand Corporation in the US, Dr Peter Chalk, found the design of many trains could amplify the destructive impact of explosive devices and warned that station security remains “questionable”...
