Climate change - USA - Clinton sees connection between pollution, wild weather
Valhalla,N.Y.,USA Newsday/Associated Press, by JIM FITZGERALD -July 17, 2006: -- As she helped launch four hybrid diesel-electric buses Monday, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton said there may be a link between pollution and some of New York's recent wild weather... The hybrid buses, which cost $592,000 each compared to $400,000 for an all-diesel bus, are going into service on Westchester County's Bee-Line fleet... County Executive Andrew Spano said they will be part of an experiment in which they will be compared to other new buses, some running on natural gas and some on low-sulphur diesel fuel... "We will purchase the rest of our buses based on the experience with these three types of fuel," Spano said...
