Baltimore County,MD,USA -The Examiner, by Earle Eldridge -Jul 15, 2006: -- A school bus manufacturer unveiled the first hybrid diesel/electric-powered school bus this week, but a Baltimore County school official said the district must carefully weigh the higher price tag against promised fuel savings before deciding to buy a hybrid bus... IC Corp., the nation’s largest school bus manufacturer, showed its hybrid bus to school official at a pupil transportation conference... IC’s hybrid bus gets about 40 percent better fuel economy than the 8.9 miles per gallon average of most conventional school buses, Dane Roth, a spokesman for the bus company said...
