Protesting - UK - Fury over faith school buses
Herts,UK -Advertiser 24 -8 June 2006: -- Hunderds of people protesting against plans to end free transport to faith schools gave county council officers a rough ride on Tuesday night... Furious campaigners complained bitterly that not one single decision-maker attended the consultative meeting at Nicholas Breakspear School in St Albans... The county council is proposing to end free school transport for new pupils starting at faith state schools from September 2007... If the plan goes ahead, the phasing out would save up to £3.4 million from the county's school transport budget... This policy would apply to 98 of the faith schools in Hertfordshire - nine secondary and 89 primary schools...
