Othón -May 30 2006: -- Their buses usually whiz by the gates of Palm Beach County's dozens of developments, but Palm Tran vehicles would go inside gated communities next year as part of a program aimed at better serving the area's seniors... With a $450,000 state grant from the Department of Transportation, Palm Tran officials are planning a venture that would take buses into areas they traditionally don't enter... The 18-month pilot project will send smaller buses into gated communities as part of a new flexible route service that would allow riders to connect to a regular Palm Tran fixed route...
