RIDERS COMPLAIN * USA - NYC lawmaker gives faster bus service mixed reviews

New York,NY,USA -The Examiner, by Michael A. Harris -February 7, 2011: -- A new service designed to improve transportation on Manhattan's East Side appears to be working well, but the project still needs improvement, one local lawmaker says...  City Council Member Jessica Lappin (D - Manhattan) today gave the M15 bus line's new Select Bus Service a report card, showing that while the project has helped speed up service on the East Side it still needs improvement. While overall the program, which uses dedicated bus lanes, special buses and lets passengers pay before they board got a "B-," Lappin says there's no excuse for them not getting an "A"  ...  The report noted that "residents have voiced complaints about long wait times for buses, broken ticket machines, uncooperative drivers and problems coordinating between local and SBS buses."...
