Volkswagen AG buy the Wallenberg family stake in the Swedish truck company
Germany -Bloomberg, by Chad Thomas and Jeremy van Loon -March 3, 2008: -- Volkswagen AG took control of Scania AB, buying the Wallenberg family stake in the Swedish truck company for 27 billion kronor ($4.37 billion) and clearing the way for a merger with MAN AG that would create the European market leader... Volkswagen bought shares of Soedertaelje-based Scania from Wallenberg's Investor AB and family foundations for 200 kronor apiece, the German company said in a statement today. It now has 68.6 percent of voting rights, compared with 38 percent previously...
