TEACHING DRIVERS * UK - It's smiles better on the buses
Norwich,England,UK -Norwich Evening News, by REBECCA GOUGH -1 March 2008: -- All new bus drivers working for First Eastern Counties will be required to attend special customer care courses as part of a bid to win over disgruntled passengers... The course, which bosses will also “strongly encourage” current drivers to undertake, will teach drivers how to deal politely with passengers and respond to the needs of disabled people... It is hoped the move, which was revealed by First's managing director Peter Iddon at the end of his first year in charge, will help bring an end to complaints about rude drivers from passengers and give the company a better public image...
