Transit issues frustrate parents * USA - Smaller buses, longer routes cause concern
This year more children than usual are riding school buses that look like a miniature version of the standard long bus that holds 78 students
New Milford,CT,USA -The Danbury News Times (Danbury,CT) -1 Oct 2007: -- ... For some parents and children, the All-Star Transportation switch to three-quarter-size buses, which hold 47 people, has been less than welcome... For the children the issue is discomfort and inconvenience... Instead of sitting two to a seat, they now sit three, or even four, across, their backpacks stuffed under their feet... For parents, the issue is safety... (Photo: Alice Schuette, holding her daughter Rose, greets her daughter Grace, 4, as she gets off the school bus at Mountain View Avenue in New Milford)
