La Havana,Cuba -Granma, by Susan Lee -5 Oct 2007: -- During the course of the next week, more than 50 new Chinese Yutong buses, both standard and articulated, will begin to provide service in Havana, increasing the number of new buses operating out of the metropolitan bus depots to more than 100... The leaders inspected 11 different models of the well-known Chinese bus manufacturer that arrived to Cuba last week as part of a package of 398 buses to be used for urban, tourist, and school and worker transportation services... A fleet of 15 new green buses, complete with “clean engines” which meet tough European standards of emissions, go into service on Monday... The vehicles have cost the company £2.5m and six of them will operate on the newly-named Capital City Green route from the city centre to Llanishen and Thornhill...
