Passengers on bus routes operated by Pécs's public transport company will be required to board vehicles at the front door and show their ticket or pass from June 16...

Budapest,Hungary -hirtv.hu/Caboodle/All Hungary News -6 June 2007: -- The new rule will apply to passengers traveling on more than 30 of the city's 65 routes on every day of the week and at every stop. On the other, less frequented routes, they will have to use the front door for boarding on weekdays after 7 p.m. and all days on weekdays and holidays... The change was made necessary by the large number of unpaying passengers. The company operating public transport in the city hopes that once the new rule is introduced, all passengers will buy a ticket. It also believes that the new system will not cause disruptions to the service... Budapest public transport company BKV is considering implementing the same change in the future for the same reason...
