Anderson residents will be riding in style as the city looks to replace its City of Anderson Transit Service fleet of buses

Pete Heuer, general manager of City of Anderson Transit System, said he hoped to purchase buses that would eventually run on biodiesel. The buses will also have a safety and security package to meet the requirements of the FTA... Heuer said he spends now about $100,000 on maintenance each year. The cost should decrease significantly once the fleet is replaced, he said... The bids also included speculative prices for bicycle racks and a new fare box system. All buses will have air conditioning...
