NSW,Australia -Australasian Bus and Coach -13 April 2007: -- The NSW State Government has scrapped the priority system that gives buses green lights through Sydney’s congested northwest... The System uses electronic tags fitted to buses to ensure a clear run through lights along the 17-kilometre route... The Roads and Traffic Authority (RTA) has quietly dumped the technology that would have prevented buses waiting at red lights along the $500 million North-West T-way between Parramatta and Rouse Hill... A month after the route opened, none of the Hillsbus vehicles using the T-way have the tags, and the company says buses using the Liverpool to Parramatta route have had their tags switched off at some intersections...
