DANGEROUS DRIVERS * Iran - Bus Crash Kills 30 Pilgrims In Iran
Isfahan,Iran -Playfuls.com (Targu Mures,Romania) / Islamic Republic News Agency -9 April 2007: -- At least 30 people returning from a pilgrimage to Iraq died in Iran when a truck smashed into their bus southwest of the capital of Tehran... The bus was returning to the central Iran city of Isfahan on Sunday after a pilgrimage to visit holy sites in Iraq, reported... The truck hit the bus on a bridge and sent it plunging into a valley about 440 miles southwest of Tehran... The accident in the western province of Ilam was blamed on the truck's excessive speed. More than 26,000 people die each year in road accidents in Iran due to unsafe cars and trucks, negligent driving and inadequate emergency services, the report said... Iran reportedly has one or the worst transportation safety records in the world...
