BUSES' PURCHASE PROSPECTS * Canada - Calls for more buses
Vancouver,BC,Canada -CKNW - Apr, 08 2007: -- There is a grassroots movement underway to get more buses on Lower Mainland roads... Overcrowding and long waits at the bus stop...those are just a few of the issues being discussed at a meeting of the Bus Rider's Union... Organizer Beth Grayer says bus drivers as well as transit users are feeling the pinch... She says drivers are "driving without brakes and they are carrying heavily-loaded buses; they are forced to pass people by on a daily basis."... She says those issues are creating anger in the transit system... The group is calling for 500 new byses by the year 2010...
