Biodiesel blend * USA - School buses return today after switch in fuel blend
Fort Wayne,IN,USA -The Fort Wayne Journal Gazette, by Krista J. Stockman -Feb. 07, 2007: -- Exactly what caused the problems that plagued area school buses this week is still somewhat of a mystery, but school officials are confident the buses will run fine today... Fort Wayne Community Schools and East Allen County Schools canceled school Tuesday after fuel turned to gel and shut down dozens of buses Monday. Mechanics worked feverishly to determine why the subzero temperatures had such an effect on the fuel, a problem not previously seen. About a quarter of each district’s buses ran into problems... Both districts use a 20 percent biodiesel blend in their fleets but are returning to their traditional winter diesel blends to get through the cold days ahead...
