Johannesburg,SA -The Citizen (J0hannesburg,Pretoria), by Kennedy Mudzulienero -9 Jan 2007: -- Transport Minister Jeff Radebe has been urged to introduce a system that will allow commuters to report misconduct in the public transport sector... The system, to be contained in the public transport charter, would set standards and norms... It would have a toll-free number that members of the public could phone to report unroadworthy public transport vehicles, bad driving and poor service delivery... In terms of the charter, which was tabled by the DA yesterday, long distance drivers of public transport vehicles should be required by law to have co-drivers...

* China - Guangzhou to install cameras on buses
Guangzhou,China -The Shanghai Daily News, by Li Xinran /Nanfang Daily (Guangzhou) -8 Jan 2007: -- Each bus riding on Guangzhou streets will be installed with video cameras to increase commuter safety... All the cameras on buses will link to the city-wide inspection network. Drivers can also watch the happenings on their bus via screens on a panel, the newspaper said...
