FREE BUSES * UK - Pensioners flock to use they
Cambridge,England,UK -The Cambridge Evening News -24 Nov 2006: -- A huge number of extra pensioners are travelling on buses after the News won a campaign to secure free offpeak travel... The take-up of the scheme by pensioners in East Cambridgeshire has been hailed as a massive success... After fighting for months to get free bus travel for OAPs and disabled people the News' On the Buses campaign was victorious in August... Since the summer thousands of residents in East Cambridgeshire are travelling free with more than 2,000 people applying for bus passes in October... That is almost 1,500 more than in the whole of October and November last year...
