Passengers * New Zealand - Commuter bus patronage on the rise
Wanganui,New Zealand -The Wanganui Chronicle, by COLIN ROWATT -24 Nov 2006: -- A small but steady increase in passenger numbers has vindicated Horizons Regional Council’s decision to persevere with the Marton-Palmerston North daily commuter bus service... Poor performance during its one-year trial period, which ended in March this year, almost saw the service axed... However, the “use it or lose it” message delivered by Horizons passenger transport committee eventually prompted a significant increase in patronage... Since January, passenger numbers have climbed from a low of just 200 a month to more than 450 a month...
