* Peru - 45 die as bus falls 1300ft into ravine
Puno,Peru -Glasgow Evening Times (Glasgow,Scotland,UK) -6 Dec 206: -- Forty-five people died when a bus speeding through fog on a twisting mountain road plunged 1320ft into a ravine. Only the bus driver and a five-year-old boy survived the accident in Puno, on the border with Bolivia, 530 miles south-east of Lima. They suffered minor injuries... Rescuers were delayed because villagers had blocked the road with rocks to demand an irrigation project for their crops... A police spokesman said the bus was a makeshift, unstable vehicle - one of hundreds of buses in Peru illegally grafted onto the chassis of flat-bed...
* India - 7 killed, 32 injured as bus rolls down the hill
New Delhi,India -IRNA/Islamic Republic News Agency (Tehran,Iran) -Dec 6, 2006: -- Seven persons were killed and 32 others were injured when a bus rolled down a hill on Kiratpur-Manali national highway, 60-km from Palampur, today, police said... The deceased included four women, driver and conductor of the bus, they said, adding about 45 persons were travelling in the vehicle, PTI reported here quoting police sources... The bus was on its way from Dharamsala to Manali when the accident ccurred, they said...
