* Peru - Bus Crash in, 45 People DeadLIMA, Peru -The Associated Press/The Wasington Post -Dec 5, 2006: -- A bus speeding through the fog on a twisting mountain road in the Andes fell 1,320 feet into a ravine, killing 45 people, police said Tuesday... Only the bus driver and a 5-year-old boy survived the accident late Monday in a remote area near the Bolivian border, 530 miles southeast of Lima, Capt. Edgar Saavedra, a police spokesman, said by telephone. Both survivors were hospitalized with minor injuries in Puno city... "We have reports that the accident occurred because of bad weather and speeding," Saavedra said.
