Solo Drivers * UK - In the Slow Lane
Free-for-all could end as buses and cars with passengers take priority over lone drivers
Scotland,UK -The Scotsman, by ASTAIR DALTON -28 Nov 2006: -- Whatever form a new Forth crossing takes, it is likely to widen the travel options for thousands of commuters... Buses and high-occupancy vehicles may be given priority over cars, while the crossing could also convey trams or trains... The Forth Road Bridge is currently a free-for-all, but a new bridge or tunnel may keep solo drivers in the slow lane while those carrying passengers speed ahead... (Picture by Ian Rutherford - Even with a new crossing, the number of lanes for solo drivers could stay same)
