Akron,OH,USA -The Akron Beacon Journal, by Mark J. Price -Nov. 13, 2006: -- Electric trolley buses provided the spark that Akron needed to modernize its public transportation system in November 1941... The gleaming new coaches delivered and arrived just in time for a date which will live in infamy.
The Akron Transportation Co., a forerunner of Metro Regional Transit Authority, proposed the trackless trolley system in 1939 to eliminate the need for the aging streetcars that rumbled through the city...
