Driver's Sentence - Bulgaria - Parents of Bus Crash Victims Protest

Sofia,Bulgaria -Sof ia News Agency -8 Nov 2006: -- Parents of the 12 Bulgarian children, who drowned in river Lim after a bus accident, will appeal in front of VelikoTarnovo's Court of Appeals the reduced sentence of the bus driver... Parents consider the sentence of the bus driver, which was reduced from seven to four years, absolutely insufficient and doubt the just decision of the judges. Izmirliev was sentenced in March of 2006, and apart from him having to serve seven years behind bars, the court then decided to revoke his driver's licence for a seven-year period too... Technical reports on what caused the tragic crash are still dubious and leave many questions unanswered... Both the prosecution and the defence still haven't been able to prove whether the reason for the crash was a technical failure of the bus or the driver's negligence...
