Erwin,N.C.,USA -WRAL.com (Raleigh,NC) -Nov 9, 2006: -- Eighteen people were taken to the hospital Thursday morning after two charter buses carrying students from Fuquay-Varina Middle School on a field trip were involved in an accident, authorities said... The driver of the last of six buses in a caravan to Myrtle Beach said his brakes failed to work properly, and the bus ran into another bus in the caravan. The cause of the accident remains under investigation, authorities said...

Marion,NC,USA -The Chicago Tribune (Chicago,Ill) -Nov 9, 2006: -- A bus carrying elementary school students back from a field trip crashed Wednesday, injuring more than two dozen people aboard, officials said... The bus was carrying 54 2nd graders from Nebo Elementary School and seven adults when it went off the road south of Marion in western North Carolina... The shoulder was soft from recent rainfall, and when the driver tried to get the bus back on the road, it turned over on its side, said Patty McQuillan, spokeswoman for the state Department of Crime Control and Public Safety...
