New Buses - USA - SunLine roles out
Palm Springs,CAL,USA -The Desert Sun, by Michael Perrault -Sept 16, 2006: -- Many of SunLine Transit Agency's workhorse passenger buses - some nearly 13 years old with almost 800,000 miles - are finally being retired from the fleet... Thousand Palms-based SunLine Transit has begun sending 15 new 40-foot, 47-passenger buses onto the streets, the first new buses in 12 years... The life expectancy of transit buses based on federal guidelines is 12 years or 500,000 miles, and many of SunLine Transit's buses have surpassed that point, said Tommy Edwards, director of maintenance...
