Commuters - USA - To see changes in bus and trolley service
San Diego,CAL,USA -The San Diego Union Tribune, by Jeff Ristine -Sept 3, 2006: -- More buses, not fewer. Quicker trips, not longer. Expanded Green Line trolley service, too... The overhaul of Metropolitan Transit System services barrels into Phase 2 over the Labor Day weekend... The transit agency has had to cut routes with low ridership, give up on midday service past some schools and reduce side trips off major streets to realign itself with today's job and housing centers, and to balance its operating budget... Now it's time to plug the savings into some improvements to high-ridership areas... The changes begin today and kick into full gear Tuesday. They emerged from a Comprehensive Operational Analysis, a yearlong project approved in March...
