Santa Barbara,CA,USA -KESQ (Palm Desert,CA) -21 Aug 2006: -- Santa Barbara's transportation agency is moving one step closer to creating a computerized system that would allow passengers to know when the next bus will pull into the station in real time... The Santa Barbara Metropolitan Transit District this week voted to spend 25(M)-dollars to buy portable global positioning devices that would allow the agency to see how well its fleets of buses stick to their schedules... The system would allow passengers to log onto the Internet and find out if a bus is on schedule...
