Security - Australia - School buses are old and unsafe
Northern Australia,Australia -Townsville Bulletin -20aug06: -- Hundreds of old buses that fail Australian safety standards are being brought into the country to be used on school runs... The Bus Industry Confederation, representing manufacturers and operators, says the practice is continuing because of a loophole in Australia's vehicle importing laws... He said the buses did not have to comply with Australian design rules and emission standards and breached laws requiring access for disabled people...
