Reducing - Australia - Bus travel time slashed
Sydney,New South Wales,Australia -The Daily Telegraph, by Kelvin Bissett -August 03, 2006: -- Long-suffering city bus commuters have won a major victory which will cut nearly 10 minutes from morning journeys – simply by skipping a drop-off stop... The Daily Telegraph can reveal buses will offload passengers further south along York St, skipping the Lang Park stop, to reduce the growing conga-line of buses crawling over the Harbour Bridge... The move – to benefit in particular Hills district residents – follows traffic studies showing buses take up to 17 minutes to cross the Bridge in the morning peak... State Transit believes it can reduce this to six minutes... (Picture: The Daily Telegraph - Dropping a top from morning journeys is expected to cut almost 10 minutes from bus trips)
