New pledge - UK - To make buses run on time
Portsmouth,England,UK -Portsmouth News -10 June 2006: -- City leaders and transport chiefs are to sign a pledge to tackle the problem of buses being late... Portsmouth City Council and company bosses at bus firm First have signed up to the deal... It will see them working together to try to work out where the worst parts of the city are for congestion, and promise to sort out the Portal system – the live timetable technology which is supposed to relay up-to-date information to digital displays on bus stops... City council public transport expert Roger Banks said: "The idea is that we try to improve punctuality with these local agreements"...
