* USA - CHP Pulls Over Tour Buses For Inspections
San Francisco,CA,USA -abc7news.com/ABC7/KGO-TV/DT -June 11, 2006: -- The California Highway Patrol is pulling over tour buses traveling through the Bay Area this weekend to carry out safety checks... The CHP facility at Cordelia on eastbound I-80 in Solano County is one of the places where buses are being inspected. The drivers are also checked to make sure they are properly licensed and within their drive time limits... During the last inspection at the Cordelia checkpoint, the CHP took ten buses out of service. Five bus drivers were found to be unlicensed or unsafe to drive, and five buses had mechanical problems...

With the re-opening of schools just a day away, the Transport Department has summoned school managements for inspection of school buses to check their fitness. About 100 school buses were inspected at its Nagole testing track on Saturday, of which 20 were found to be not having proper mirrors, first-aid boxes, stairs and so on...
