Sales - Canada - New Flyer inks $160M in bus deals
WINNIPEG,Ontario, Canada -The Toronto Star -May 18, 2006: -- New Flyer Industries Inc. has announced firm orders for 441 buses worth $156.9 million US, mostly from transit authorities in Chicago and Orange County, Calif... New Flyer said Thursday that the Chicago Transit Authority has exercised options from a November 2004 contract, adding 185 buses to the existing contract for 265 vehicles. The additional 40-foot clean-diesel buses are valued at $62.8 million... The Orange County Transportation Authority in southern California, meanwhile, is expanding a September 2005 contract for 50 40-foot compressed natural gas buses by 249 units worth $91.6 million US... New Flyer also announced a $2.5-million sale to the Roaring Fork Transportation Authority of Aspen, Colo., of seven 40-foot diesel buses...
