Purchases - USA - Muni orders 56 hybrid buses
San Francisco,CAL,USA - San Francisco Business Times - 22 Aug 2005: -- Muni, the San Francisco Municipal Railway, ordered 56 hybrid diesel electric buses from a unit of DaimlerChrysler... Stuart Sunshine, Muni's general manager, said the new buses, which should arriv e in 2006, use less fuel and pollute less than diesel buses now in use... Muni didn't say how much it paid for the buses, made by Orion Bus Industries, based in Mississauga, Ontario. Orion is a unit of DaimlerChrysler Commercial Buses North America.
