Seattle, USA -Seattle Post Intelligencer, by JANE HADLEY -Aug 19, 2005: -- Engines on 37 New Flyer buses bought by Sound Transit in 1999 have been so unreliable they will have to be replaced far earlier than expected... The typical bus diesel engine provides 800,000 to 1 million miles of service, said Fred Chun, operations project manager for Sound Transit's regional express bus program. But these lasted only about 300,000 to 450,000 miles...
