* Scania supplies buses and services for Mexico City's public transport system
Södertalje,Sweden -BUSINESS WIRE/The WSJ (NY,USA) -May 09, 2014: -- Mexico is the latest country to select Scania in establishing dedicated urban bus corridors, Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), to improve its public transport system. Scania will deliver 62 buses for Mexico City's public transport system... The buses will be body built by the Brazilian company Neobus and will operate on the new 21.3-kilometre Mexibus line 2, one of the city's longest bus corridors with 42 stops. It is expected to serve some 211,000 passengers per day and will run through Cuatitlán Izcalli, the country's most populous municipality... Throughout Latin America, as well as in Africa, Scania delivers buses for BRT systems, which are being built to quickly and cost-effectively provide better public transport and reduce urban congestion. To date, Scania has delivered 3,500 buses for BRT systems...
