RULES * Azerbaijan - Proposes fines for bus drivers overcharging passengers

This bill will be discussed at a meeting of parliament on Friday

Baku,Azerbaijan -Trend, by M. Aliyev -Feb. 11, 2011: -- Azerbaijan proposed fining bus drivers demanding fare in excess of the established tariffs. Such a punishment is envisaged in the draft amendments to the Administrative Violations Code... The amount of the fine will be from 40 to 50 manat... The same amount of fine is proposed to be applied with respect to drivers violating the traffic schedule on intercity and international routes... Drivers of buses unmarked Taxi and lacking the taximeter and other equipment, violating the certain rules of transportation of passengers and baggage, and carrying prohibited items, and using of audio devices that have no direct relation to the transport process, will also be fined in the amount of 40-50 manat...
