Manchester,UK -Manchester Evening News, by Alan Salter -August 09, 2010: -- Bus passengers made more than 1,400 complaints about services in Greater Manchester in just six months – a rate of over 50 a week... Figures show the bus was responsible for by far the most complaints by the region’s public transport passengers in the period January-July this year. Some 271 were about Metrolink... The most common complaint about buses was that a driver failed to stop – something that was noted 223 times... A further 188 people rang or wrote to say a driver had been unhelpful, abusive, rude or argumentative... In 24 cases the complaint was that a driver failed to help a passenger in need... By contrast, transport bosses logged only 52 compliments about services...
