* New York - Madison County receives $1 million for buses
Wampsville,NY,USA -The Oneide Daily Dispatch, by CAITLIN TRAYNOR -July 23, 2010: -- A $1.01 million Recovery Act grant awarded to Madison County will aid in the implementation of its coordinated transit plan... Five new buses - costing about $280,000 - have been purchased with the money so far... The county can take up to two years to spend the money and will purchase additional buses and other equipment... Department of Transportation guidelines dictate when buses should be replaced and is largely based on mileage. Ingmire said three buses purchased in 2007 have more than 150,000 miles on them and also eligible to be replaced... County Planning Director Scott Ingmire said, the county would not have received the $1 million grant from the Recovery Act if the coordinated plan was not complete...
