Baku,Azerbaijan -abc.az -13 Feb 2009: -- President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan opened officially yesterday an international bus terminal complex in Baku and a range of sites on highway Baku - the border with Russia... The complex that is one of the largest bus terminals around the world is intended for passenger transportation via internal and international routes... The complex with floor space of 21.4 hectares can serve 18,000-20,000 passengers daily, accept and dispatch 800-950 buses. The bus terminal complex consists of parking for 700 buses, trade centres located at each of the four floors, a landing ground and grounds for parking of passenger buses, a mother-and-child room, a post room, telegraph service, a bank, a special duty room for officials, waiting rooms, cafes and a canteen, luggage office, entertainment room, a first-aid post, a five-storey 4-star hotel for 93 seats. After the complex is commissioned, more than 4,000 people will be provided with jobs here...
