Free Bus * UK - Proves Popular
A free bus service launched in Sheffield city centre last autumn has proved increasingly popular, carrying more than 50,000 passengers since it started

The FreeBee service is funded by South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive, whose spokesman, David Young, said: "Students, commuters, shoppers and visitors to Sheffield are all using it and it has almost become as familiar in Sheffield as the tram"... It runs every seven minutes from Monday to Saturday on a route from Sheffield interchange around the city centre. Passenger numbers have been increasing, with almost 5,700 people using it in one recent week. It is now expected to exceed its target of carrying a million passengers in its first year of service...
