Vandals * USA - Disable 80 buses
Detroit officials were able to repair all vehicles with damaged ignition systems.
Detroit,Mich,USA -The Detroit News, by Delores Flynn -5 Feb 2008: -- The Wayne County Sheriff's Office is investigating the vandalism of 80 Detroit Department of Transportation (DDOT) buses... DDOT discovered the disabled buses around 3 a.m. Monday in the bus yard on Coolidge. Ignition systems were tampered with, preventing the buses from hitting the road at their typical 3:30 a.m. times, said James Canning, deputy press secretary for the mayor's office... To help with the short delays, officials had to call in extra supervisors and use buses from the city's other bus yards to ensure residents on the Coolidge routes reached their early morning destinations...
