WOMEN DRIVERS * India - DTC to recruit they, and conductors too
New Delhi,India -Times of India, by chetanw -10 Nov 2007: -- Taking a cue from southern states where women are employed as conductors and drivers in government-operated bus fleets, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit said on Tuesday that women will be soon recruited in the DTC... “When women can reach to moon then why can’t they take the driving seats of buses. With the arrival of new DTC buses in the next two years, over 18,000 posts for bus and conductors would be created. Seats would be reserved for women,” Dikshit said at a function here to flag off the first lot of a dozen low-floor buses here...
