REPORT * UK - Boost in bid to get us back on the buses
The route to increased bus use in Tyne and Wear was mapped out today
South Tyneside,UK -The Shields Gazette, by Paul Myles-Kelly -22 November 2007: -- A report from the Confederation of Passenger Transport (CPT) says improvements to bus services in the area could boost usage by 12 per cent, cut congestion and improve the environment... The report, unveiled at Newcastle's Centre for Life today, claims there is "overwhelming evidence" improvements can be achieved through a partnership. It reveals that increasing the frequency of buses, decreasing journey times through reduced congestion, improving service punctuality and reliability and improving passenger waiting areas will increase passenger numbers by 12 per cent...
