PUBLIC TRANSPORT SYSTEM * Dubai - RTA master plan for better bus services
Khaleej,Dubai,UAE -The Khaleej Times, by Joy Sengupta -11 November 2007: -- The Public Transport Agency at the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is working on a ‘Bus Master Plan’ in a bid to ensure better services to the commuters... Senior RTA officials pointed out that the recommendations thrown up by the ongoing studies would be adopted in the development of bus services... The officials confirmed that at least six new bus depots would come up in Jebel Ali, Al Quoz, Motor City, Dubai Silicon Oasis, Jebel Ali Airport and Al Qusais for accommodating the buses... Essa Al Dossari, CEO of the Public Transport Agency, said the master plan would aim at providing rapid and secure mobility services... Al Dossari added that 45 new and sophisticated buses were introduced in the inter-city service in May this year and 125 buses will be added early next year.
