Kagawa,Japan -The Yomiuri Shimbun -5 Oct 2007: -- Many municipalities in Kagawa Prefecture provide microbus services for citizens who live in remote areas and do not drive. But in some cases, microbuses carry so few passengers that it is not feasible to continue such services... The Marugame municipal government was forced to corral the buses on four routes in two remote districts on Monday. The buses on routes to and from Ayauta and Hanzan districts carried fewer than two passengers on average, compared with six to 16 on the city's three other routes... To compensate for this, the city on Monday launched six services a day on an alternative route that connects JR Utazu Station and the Ayauta district via JR Marugame Station...
