Jacksonville,FL,USA -The Jacksonville Times-Union, by David Bauerlein -17 Aug 2007: -- The Jacksonville Transportation Authority is pumping new blood into its bus fleet. Passengers of the 2007 models will ride in greater comfort. Mechanical breakdowns, which become more frequent in summer heat, are less likely on the new buses. The JTA is adding 35 new buses at a cost of about $11.55 million. JTA will add a dozen more new buses this year... (Photo: OUT WITH THE OLD (left) ...JTA averages two bus breakdowns a day. Older buses like this 1992 model - with almost 767,000 miles on it -are more prone to mechanical failure.... IN WITH THE NEW (right)The metallic paint on the outside sets it apart from older JTA buses. Inside, the new buses also provide some upgraded creature comforts)
