TRANSPORT INTELLIGENCE * USA - RBA has money, now needs buses
The Regional Bus Authority approved a contract Wednesday that will provide it with $6.5 million in operating and capital funds in the next two years, as well as leverage millions of dollars in federal funds.

The bus board's vote in favor of the contract with the Northwest Indiana Regional Development Authority was the last step needed to secure the money. The RDA unanimously voted in favor of the plan two months ago... Considering it takes 18 months just to order and take delivery of a new bus, the RBA has its work cut out for it, RBA President Dennis Rittenmeyer said. Leasing buses may shorten that time...
