* India - 14 Killed as Bus Falls in Chenab in Doda
Srinagar,Chenab,India -Kashmir Observer -Jan 4, 2007: -- At least 14 persons were feared killed and 30 others wounded when a state road transport corporation bus skidded off the road and rolled down into the fast flowing Chenab river in the mountainous Doda district Thursday morning... The area has been scene of many ghastly accidents in the past... The Doda Kishtwar road running along the banks of Chenab river is an treacherous road stretch and so far hundreds have been killed and wounded in accidents here...

* USA - Several injured when bus crashes into downtown building
El Paso,TX,USA -KRIS-TV (Corpus Christi,TX) -5 Jan 2007: -- Several passengers were injured Friday when a coach bus bound for Mexico crashed into a downtown apartment building, police said... Twenty-four passengers were on the bus and an unknown number were taken to hospitals with minor injuries, Officer Chris Mears said. No one in the apartment building was injured...

* USA - Seven Injured In CTA Bus Accident

Seven people were injured on Wednesday when a Chicago Transit Authority bus they were riding struck a car in Cicero... The bus was on its way to Midway Airport when it hit the car at 19th Street and Cicero Avenue. Three people were in that car, one of whom remained hospitalized in serious condition... The bus, which had 21 people aboard, also knocked over a light pole...

* South Africa - Two more SA Roadlink buses impounded
South Africa -The Dispatch Online, by MALUNGELO BOOI, LUBABALO NGCUKANA & LUYANDA MAKAPELA -5 Jan 2007: -- A frantic phone call to an Arrive Alive spokesperson late on Wednesday led to two SA Roadlink buses being pulled off the road in Mthatha and impounded for travelling illegally... Mthatha traffic officers pounced on the two passenger coaches at around 11.30pm following a tip-off from a passenger on one of the buses, Arrive Alive’s Tshepo Machaea said... “I received a phone-call from a passenger on the bus who said that people on board suspected that the driver was drunk,” ... In another SA Roadlink accident, 12 people died including three children when a bus overturned in the Free State...
